STATE SWIMMERS!! Again congratulations to our Iowa High School Swimmers (Ben Kurz,
Jimmy Hawk, Pat Whitsell and Matthew Howell ) for a great state swim meet last weekend. Also I
want to recognize some other CBSC swimmers that have Qualifier for the Nebraska State High
School Swimming Championships to be held at UNL on February 26-27th. Congratulations to
Josie Bircher, and Alex Totusek!!!!!!
2010 MIDWESTERN DIVISION I QUALIFIER February 19-21 at the Titan Hill Pool
Friday 19th 11&O Warm up 4:30pm Meet 5:30pm
Sat & Sun. 11&O Prelims Warm up 7:00am Meet 8:00am
Finals Warm up 4:45pm Meet 5:30pm
10&U Warm up 12:30pm Meet 1:30pm
SWIMMERS ENTERED: We have 68 CBSC swimmers entered in this swim meet. Entries will
be posted.
SWIM MEET HELP- First of all I want thank those that signed up last week to help at our swim
meet this weekend however we only had about 70% of what we need. Therefore instead of
waiting for more people to sign up I decided to assign positions to our members. I also will assign
some timing positions to the visiting teams because we do not have enough bodies available
during some of the sessions to cover what we need to run this meet. Attached will be a complete
2 page list of all those that volunteered and those that were assigned to positions. Those
assigned will be indicated by an *.
NOTE: If you were assigned positions and NOT available let me know ASAP
SWIM MEET AD’S- If you haven’t done your family commitment of $25 worth of advertisement our
DI Qualifier Meet is your last chance for the season. Also remember that any family the does over
the $25 the club credits 50% of that ad money back to your account. Ad’s are due MONDAY
February 15th.
SPEEDO CENTRAL REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP MEET March 4-7 at Oklahoma City
Comm. College Ok.
CONGRATULATIONS to Kelsey Thoren and RJ Hemmingsen. They have qualified to swim in
this meet by achieving a 15&O AAA Time. The meet will host senior swimmers from over 12
different LSC’s. and even some with Olympic Trial Cuts.

CHAMPIONSHIP RELAY SWIMMERS- CBSC WILL enter relay swimmers in our the
Midwestern Championship Meets (13&O and 12&U). We will hopefully enter relays in ALL the age
groups (8&U, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-18)
NOTE: Relay swimmers will be announced after our meet this weekend.
LIST OF CHAMPIONSHIP MEET QUALIFIERS- A Swimmer Best Time Spreadsheet will be posted
on the bulletin board in the pool area and those swimmers with qualifying times will be
highlighted.
COACHES AT SWIM MEETS- Our coaches are at the swim meets to work with the
swimmers. We want each swimmer to always talk to the coaches after each of their swimming
events. That is the best time for the coaches to give them feedback on their swim. We also
encourage parents to ask them what the coaches have said to them about their swim. Therefore
please have your swimmers talk to the coaches immediately after they swim and even before if
they have questions.
T-SHIRTS & HOODED SWEATSHIRTS- The new shipment of the adult sizes of our club T-Shirts &
Hooded Sweatshirts have arrived. You can purchase them in the office.
JANUARY SWIMMER OF THE MONTH CALEB SHUDAK!!!!!
Caleb had a great month of swimming in January. Caleb achieved A times in the 50, 100, 200, 500,
1000, and 1650 Freestyle events and the 50 Fly and 200 Back early in the month and then
achieved AA times in 50, 100, 200, 500 later in the month plus AA times in the 50 & 100 Back, and
400IM. He also set team records in the 100 & 200yd Backstroke events for the 11-12 age group
JANUARY ATTENDANCE The following swimmers had the best attendance at practice during
the month of January in their practice groups. BLUE GROUP- Emma Cortney 10 Days. GOLD I-
Camille Pacheco & Zach Shudak 12 Days. GOLD II- Jackson Allmon 12 GOLD III- Jessica Gill
12 SENIORS- Bella Phillips 16 Days.
